Are you excited about Halloween in Big Bear? Here’s where you will be spooked or find candy and have the BEST Halloween you can! The Halloween season is upon us, and spooky fun abounds all October long. Trick-or-treat from store to store or along Rathbun Creek Trail, visit the Zoo at night for an eerie tour, and dare to enter the haunted Mystery Maze. Discover some of Big Bear’s own ghoulish history, and be sure to get out to take in the season’s beautiful fall foliage.

Community Halloween Events & Activities

Halloween in The Village!

Everyone is invited to head to The Village from 5–7 p.m. on Halloween (Oct 31) to trick-or-treat from store to store. Oh – And don’t forget your costume! A special dog costume contest will take place from 4–4:30 p.m. at the Copper Q. INFO.

 

Treats & Trails!

The Southern California Mountains Foundation is hosting their annual Treats & Trails event on the Rathbun Trail in Moonridge. Bring the kiddos, don your best Halloween costumes, and trick or treat from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. on October 28.

 

Twilight Safaris at Big Bear Zoo:

Join the Big Bear Alpine Zoo for Twilight Safaris with a focus on nocturnal animals. Enjoy hot chocolate and cookies along the way. Six tours daily; reserve your space at BigBearZoo.org.

 

Pumpkin Paint & Sip:

Join Barrel 33 for a fun paint & sip with pumpkins to adorn your home this Halloween! INFO

 

Board & Brush X Barrel 33 Halloween Collab:

Big Bear’s best crafters are joining forces this Halloween! Barrel 33 and Board and Brush host a joint Halloween Collab at Barrel 33 in The Village. INFO.

 

Pumpkin Patch Pop-Up Shop:

All ages are welcome at this “pumpkin patch” on October 28! Come in, choose your pumpkin trio, and add your stencils. Pumpkins are pre-stained or pre-painted, and you add the faces and fun decorations. $25, no registration required. INFO

 

Mystery Maze:

The Big Bear Moose Lodge presents the Mystery Maze! It’s the perfect activity for the whole family this Halloween. Find your way through darkness, mirrors, and more to escape to freedom! The Mystery Maze is open Oct 13 – 28, Fridays and Saturdays from 5–9 p.m., M with a special opening on Halloween from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. Tickets may be purchased at the door; Adults $5, 12 & under $3. Haunted Halls:

The Big Bear Youth Interact Club hosts Haunted Halls on October 28, 29, and 31. Dare to walk the halls of this old school building and stop at various classrooms to enjoy spooktacular skits. This event is free of charge,e but donations are appreciated. All proceeds will go to charity. INFO

 

Halloween Concert in The Village:

The final Free Concert in The Village happens on October 31, with The Spazmatics taking the stage. This 80s rock band brings to life all the hits of the decade, so get your grooving shoes on!

 

Big Bear Escape Room:

The escape room features a hair-raising Big Bear Asylum puzzle room where your team must rescue your missing friend from a ghoulish fate at the hands of an evil doctor. You have 60 minutes to complete your mission with a team of 2-6 people. Children 12 and up may participate with parental permission. Two additional escape room experiences are also available at this location. Located at 40055 Big Bear Blvd.

 

Escape Room!

Mountain Room Escapes features 3 escape room experiences of varying difficulty. Will you make it out of your snowed-in Alpine Ski Lodge before the cold truly sets in? Or, will you find your way home after becoming hopelessly lost on a hike and seeking shelter in an abandoned cabin – that maybe isn’t abandoned? Will you save Moonbeam Hollow from an evil wizard’s spell with the help of an Inventor’s Workshop? INFO

 

Howl at The Moon Party!

Barrel 33’s exclusive Halloween Party on October 28 includes the first drink free, DJ music, seasonal drinks, foods, raffles, and prizes for the top 3 Halloween costumes. INFO

 

Pumpkin Patch:

The FREE Community Pumpkin Patch returns October 28 at Snow Summit! Hosted by the Big Bear Lions Club, this event invites community members (especially kids!) to come out and enjoy Halloween fun, like a bounce house, hay maze, and carnival games. Each child under 12 years will also receive a FREE pumpkin to take home. 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. INFO.

 

Boo at The Zoo:

The Big Bear Alpine Zoo hosts Boo at the Zoo on October 29 from 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Bring your children dressed in costumes, ready to trick-or-treat while getting to know the Zoo’s amazing animals. Boo at the Zoo is included in the general admission price. INFO

 

Scary Tales Variety Show:

Join the community for a fun-filled Halloween variety show full of poetry, improv, music, and dance at the Big Bear Lake Performing Arts Center. Wear a Halloween costume and get a FREE concession treat. October 28 from 2 p.m. & 7 p.m. Located at 39707 Big Bear Blvd. Kids: $10, Adults: $15, Seniors: $13 INFO
