Christmas in The Village
Santa and Mrs. Claus are set to make a special appearance to say hello and take pictures with kids and families. All season long The Village will be decorated with twinkling lights along with seven expertly carved bears and other woodland creatures scattered throughout The Village making for some ideal photo opportunities!
Santa Claws at Big Bear Zoo
December 16 – Say ‘Hello!’ to Santa ‘Claws’ while you visit the Big Bear Alpine Zoo this holiday season! Santa will be making special appearances plus The Mountain Marvels Caroling Show will also take place. Event Included with general admission.

Big Bear Christkindlmarkt
December 16 – Big Bear’s original Christkindlmarkt returns featuring last minute holiday shopping, live entertainment, games and activities, a Wishing Tree, and photo opps with St. Nick and Christkindl. This year’s event not only includes the enchantment of a small town Christmas faire, but as the sun goes down, a night of rockin’ 80’s starts up. Nicholas Nacht will feature 80’s band Sunglasses At Night, indoor snowball fights, sausage hockey, and an ugly sweater contest with cash prizes. Located at Big Bear Convention Center at 42900 Big Bear Blvd.

Ornament Paint & Sip
December 16 – Celebrate the holidays with an ornament workshop! All materials and instruction is included to help you create a set of holiday ornaments for your tree. Children must be ages 6+ and accompanied by an adult and pre-registration is required.
Santa Comes to Summit
December 16 – Head to Snow Summit and take your FREE photo with Jolly St. Nick. 11AM to 3PM. Located at 880 Summit Blvd.

The Nutcracker
December 16 & 17 – The Moonridge School of Dance presents The Nutcracker at the Performing Arts Center. This holiday favorite showcases the students of the Moonridge School of Dance.
A Ghost Story of Christmas
December 21 – 23 – The Unique Presentation of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens; Presented by One Actor Alone – Steve Cassling at the Big Bear Lake Performing Arts Center.
Renaissance Rock Orchestra’s: Christmas Rocks
December 22 – Experience the fusion of iconic classic rock and symphonic Christmas sounds as the Renaissance Rock Orchestra takes you on a musical journey like no other.
A Celtic Christmas
This event has passed – After captivating audiences around the world, the all-singing, all-dancing, family-friendly treat, ‘A Celtic Christmas by A Taste of Ireland’ is set to tour the United States! Watch award-winning Irish musicians complement the world’s best Irish Dancers in an unforgettable night of Irish charm.
Grand Menorah Lighting & Chanukah Celebration
This event has passed – Chabad of Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear hosts the second Menorah Lighting and Chanukah Celebration in The Village. The City of Big Bear Lake Mayor and Councilmembers will be present and everyone is invited to enjoy the festivities including Latkes, Donuts, festive music and much more! For each night of Chanukah, a new light will illuminate the Grand Menorah in The Village!
Holiday Mall in the Hall
This event has passed – It’s time to do some holiday shopping! Stop by the main hall of Bear Valley Community Hospital. Every purchase helps support the BVCHD Auxiliary. Bake Sale to be held Dec 4 & 5 in the Hospital Conference Room.
Holiday Karaoke & Onesie Party
This event has passed – Join us for a festive celebration at Barrel 33! Get ready to jingle and mingle at the most happening holiday party in town. It’s time to put on your party onesie (that’s right, the theme is onesies) and dance the night away. With a DJ, karaoke, delicious food, and a wide selection of drinks, this event promises to be a night to remember.

Both Snow Summit and Bear Mountain ski resorts are open through the Christmas holiday. Reserve your tickets, and or lessons, and spend your holiday season tearing it up on the slopes!
Snow Tubing
Not into skiing or riding? Enjoy the snowy slopes on a snow tube at three locations in Big Bear! Alpine Slide at Magic Mountain and Big Bear Snow Play are open daily from 10 AM – 4 PM. Nighttime Glow Tubing will begin at both locations Nov. 29.
