Where is the Best Big Bear Lake Beach?
China Island
China Island in Big Bear Lake is known to be one of the best places for swimming in the area. The coast is very rocky, so it’s not like the sandy beaches you may be used to. However, tons of people come here during great weather to jump off the enormous boulders and enjoy the water! There is a small, free parking lot near mile marker 44.65 on Highway 18, but it gets full quickly on hot days so you might have to park a little farther away.

Meadow Park in Big Bear is fun for the whole family. Located right next to the lake, this area is home to picnic areas, barbecues, tennis courts, a playground, sports fields, and more! One of our favorite parts of this park is their beach area. Spend the day alternating between playing catch with the kids, watching them splash in the lake, and grilling under the summer sun!
