1. Canoeing & Kayaking
Depending on water levels, you can launch a kayak from the shore at Boulder Bay Park, head to one of the boulder islands, and walk around on one. Either way, this is a lovely, relaxed place to go kayaking, and the unique islands provide a fun diversion.
2. Enjoy the Views
Bring a picnic with you and eat at the picnic tables that look out over Big Bear Lake and the distinctive boulder island formations. Take in the vibrant hues of azure blue and emerald green. Watch the sunlight sparkle on the surface of Big Bear Lake, and enjoy the fresh air.
Marvel at the sight of the mountains looming in the background, accentuated by the sky and accentuating the trees and lake. If you’re here during the winter, either for Christmas or the skiing, you just might see a brilliant blanket of snow covering everything.
Whether you visit during summer or winter, the scenery is always striking, and Big Boulder Park is a great place to relax for a while.
3. Take a Stroll
Follow the pleasant walking paths around the park. There’s a floating dock that stretches into the water, offering an excellent place to immerse yourself in the scenery without taking a boat out. Don’t forget to bring your camera!
4. Go Fishing
While Boulder Bay Park is not necessarily a championship fishing destination, there is a fishing dock! And if you’re looking to drop a line in the water and unwind for a while, it’s the perfect place for that.
5. Play!
